Built in 1970, Cecille, Lloyds registry number Y161397, sailed from the Nautor yard at Pietarsaari in Finland to Cork in Ireland where she spent more than 30 years being cruised (including the Med) and raced by the same family who owned her from new. In 2005 she was acquired by her current owners and since then, has undergone a painstaking and thorough programme of sympathetic restoration. Today she looks as good, if not better, than she did when she was new. She has been lightly raced and cruised over the past nine years and meticulously maintained. Her IRC rating is currently .915 and her race results show her to be one of the quickest of the UK bases S&S 36’s.

Brokers Comments I have been to see this very fine Swan that is presented in quite exceptional condition. The 36 as you may know, started the phenomenon that is today Nautor’s Swan possible the most recognisable builder of sailing yachts in the world. The 36 was an exceptional boat for its time. Beautifully built, designed by one of the most famous designers it is no wonder she won every race she entered!
The hull lines were taken from the proven One Ton Cup yacht “Cybelle” and were a further development of the 12m design principles evolved by Sparkman and Stephens. The high ballast/displacement ration and high aspect sail plan in combined with a finely engineered weight concentration amidships to ensure stability and performance.
