This is a gift. This is the opportunity of a lifetime. The owners of this beautiful boat are willing to accept any respectable offer. None live in the country. The pictures in the listing are all current yet some are only 3 years old as the boat sailed in the Bahamas, Florida Keys, Dry Tortugas and offshore.
A word from the owner “Chanty had fans every time we docked up somewhere with cruisers. They love it and so did we. Fishing area on the stern is wonderful with ample area to relax and watch the waves. Would I buy this boat again? Absolutely Yes!!! She sails comfortable, the cockpit is so safe and she is easy to live in. In the Northern climates she keeps you warm and in the Bahamas she kept us so very comfortable. Unfortunately, life got in the way and we cannot keep her. I have to go and no one can attend to her.”
Chanty, this Hallberg-Rassey Rasmus was completely rebuilt from top to bottom 6 years ago in Main CT by the owner of the Hallberg-Rassey dealership. All parts on deck were taken off and Awl Gripped as well as the top sides. The builder called this boat the Bahamas model for her 3.4 ft draft, full keel, tremendously solid hull and the ingenious water tank filling system (as you know, afternoons see rain clouds roll by. Plug the drains, open the water tank caps and high gunnels can accumulate water for the tanks to be filled with rain water). She comes with perfect sails. The main sail is covered by the MackBag system that is easy to zip up and cover. The jib in perfect condition and Chanty comes with an optional cutter rig that can be easily installed for the longer sails (sail down below).
The absolute big seller is the bow thruster. Never worry about missing the dockage again. This addition costed thousands not only in gear but in installation. I invite you to find another 35ft on the market with this option.
The windlass is brand new in 2016. The setting system comes with a Danforth plus 140ft of chain on the windlass that is managed from the bow or the cockpit. The second plow anchor with 40ft of chain and rode.
The hard dodger has the solar panels easily placed on top and are more than sufficient to keep the batteries topped up. Ventilation is also very good with the dodger window able to be opened. At anchor the breeze blows into the cockpit and is wonderful while having the evening wine in the cockpit. On the other hand, during the rainy days, the cockpit can be zipped up with three different methods. 1. Full cover with vinyl windows, 2. With a plastic mesh material that keeps the wind blowing and the shade on, and 3. With a system that allows for the rain to wash away from the cockpit while being completely open to the wind. This last one is particularly welcoming in the Bahamas or Caribbean.
