The present owner bought her 7 years ago from Stanford University intending to sail around the world with a crew of two experienced, senior citizen cruisers. The initial selection criteria was for a strong, fast boat that was light enough to go fast without the need for overly large sails and a powerful engine for the times when the wind is light. The first year of ownership was spent sailing on the bay, while planning for the trip, and setting up our outfitting plan. Unfortunately health issues develop. For the last six years she sat, waiting at the dock for the health issues to resolve themselves. Unfortunately they didn't so she is ready for a new owner. "AMASTAR" is also a candidate for a fast, commercial daysail boat because she has a large cockpit and was built in the US.
