“Uptown Girl” was built in a time era when a sea kindly motion in a seaway was an important factor in the design brief. Her solid construction, large interior and practical cockpit wrap you in comfort.
The spacious interior is a blend of new white vinyl, teak bulkheads, a teak and holly cabin sole, multiple ports, and two deck hatches for a warm, bright and very comfortable home away from home.
The forward stateroom affords comfortable accommodations for two. The 6’5” V-berth sits over drawers and lockers for stowage. There is a access panel to a forepeak stowage area. The tinted Lexan deck hatch provides ventilation and light.
The starboard side head is well thought out with plenty of room to move around without infringement upon space needed for the forward cabin. A stainless steel wash basin with pressure water, hand held shower combined with a mirror and several drawers and lockers make the area highly functional, orderly and livable. There is an overhead Dorade for ventilation. Opposite the head compartment is a spacious hanging locker and chest of drawers serving both the master stateroom and the main cabin.
The main cabin is well laid out and extremely functional for both sleeping and eating as well as entertaining on board. There is a settee to port which serves as a single berth with storage under, and lockers and shelf above. The starboard dinette space converts to a double berth, with storage under and shelf above. A large table affords comfortable seating for six at meals. The multiple ports and hatches provide abundant light to show off the beautiful interior and teak and holly cabin sole. The port and starboard overhead, teak handholds and cruising interior make movement below decks safe and secure in a seaway.
“Uptown Girl’s” “U”-shaped galley to port is both efficient and convenient. It affords ample working room, putting all storage areas, ice box, sink and stove within easy reach while keeping the cook out of companionway traffic. It also affords a sheltered, protected area when meals must be prepared while underway. The galley includes a deep stainless steel sink draining near center line with pressure hot & cold water and dockside water, gimbaled, two-burner pressurized alcohol stove with oven and microwave, a well-insulated 7.5 cubic foot ice box to cover all of the food preparation options. There is more than ample stowage with numerous draws, lockers, and storage compartments.
The navigation station and chart table located to starboard on top of a bureau and at the head of the quarter berth provides working room and storage space for charts and navigator’s tools and instruments.
The starboard quarter berth is a large single or snuggle close double.
