“Weaver” has been owned for many years by Westward Quest Ltd and has
been maintained and skippered by the owners.
They are familiar with the workings of the vessel and have carried out routine
maintenance, as and when required. They have also ensured that the
vessel is fully compliant with the MCA requirements for commercial charter
Although built in 1979 the GRP structure of the vessel is very substantial
and shows very little deterioration outwith the normal minor marking from
wear and tear.
Some years ago the yacht was re-rigged and we understand there has been
a more recent examination of the standing and running rigging. Also the
underside was cleaned back, gel coat checked and found to be satisfactory
and then epoxy coated as a preventative measure.
There are several sister ships to “Weaver” on the west coast of Scotland.
They have proven to be quite popular particularly as they are high volume
giving good accommodation coupled with reasonable performances under
power and sail. The spacious saloon with good visibility makes the vessel
very comfortable for those below while underway. The table extension and
chairs allow 10 people to sit round the table.
Davit’s for the boat are available, but are not currently fitted.
