Year of build unknown - approx 1986. Ferro cement construction with long keel, aft cockpit, round bilge, masthead Bermudan Cutter rig and 5 berth internal layout in 2 cabins with standing headroom.
Mast built by Frost and Drake, riggings by T.S. Rigging, stainless steel fittings by Alacrity Engineering and Gamart Engineering. Engine and stern gear by P. Fellows Marine Engineering.

Slab reefing mainsail (2002, North Sea Sails). Mainsail cover. Furling Yankee and furling staysail with cutter rig. Douglas fir mast and boom (new 2001) with 8mm and 6mm stainless steel standing rigging (new 2001) and terylene running rigging.
Perkins 4108 42HP inboard diesel engine. We understand that the engine was rebuilt in 1998. Freshwater heat exchanger. 35 gallon fuel tank with a consumption per hour of around ½ a gallon at a cruising speed of about 5 knots. Her maximum speed under engine is around 6.5 knots. Shaft drive to fixed 3 bladed propeller. Alternator charging to 1 x 12 volt battery. Current engine hours since rebuild approx 600.

Plastimo compass, chart plotter, AIS, radar, echo sounder, VHF Radio, FM/AM radio, windvane at masthead, GPS, clock and barometer, navigation lights, steaming light, tri colour masthead light and anchor light.
Horseshoe lifebuoy, manual fire extinguisher, manual bilge pump and electric bilge pump.
Taylors heater. She has a 240 volt ringmain. Her galley needs a new cooker, water supply to the sink is from a 50 gallon fixed water tank. Her separate heads compartment has a marine toilet. Maroon upholstery.
She has 5 berths in 2 cabins including 2 “V” berths in the separate forward cabin and 3 berths in the saloon.
“Carpe Diem” is a heavily built cruising yacht. She was purchased by her current owner in 1994 and has proved to be a very capable yacht. Her hull is heavily built of ferro cement and her decks are of marine ply, epoxy sheathed and painted with a non-slip deck paint. Her rig was purchased new around 15 years ago and she is set up for longer distance cruising. She has been ashore for a couple of years being re-fitted and does need a final few items such as the galley cooker and some new batteries installing.
