INDIGO VI was the last built of the beautiful German Frers designed cruiser/racer, the Swan 651. She is hull number 019 and has the extended transom, flag-blue hull, fin keel and was built by Nautor Swan, Finland in 1991.
INDIGO VI has been completely and lovingly restored by her current owner, an experienced and passionate Swan sailor.
She acquired a new engine and generator and a bow thruster in 2013. Soon afterwards, in 2014, new 15mm teak decks were done and new North Sails, including a fully battened main, genoa and staysail were acquired.
In 2017 more extensive work was carried out. The hull, topsides, superstructure and mast and boom were repainted and a full anti osmosis bottom treatment was done. A full rig survey and service was also done.
There have been other equipment upgrades and replacements that are too numerous to list here.
INDIGO VI is a classic Frers beauty in excellent condition and is ready to go anywhere. She is probably the best Swan 651 on the market and must be seen to be appreciated.
Swan 651 # 19, extended version, built 1991 by Nautor Swan, Finland, designer German Frers, blue hull (repainted 2017 with Flag-blue Du Pont system), fin keel. In total 19 were built of this beautiful cruiser/racer in the period 1982-1991.
INDIGO VI is now in excellent condition following a comprehensive refit program and she is ready to go anywhere. She must be seen to be appreciated and is probably the best Swan 651 on the market today.
INDIGO VI has been completely refitted under present ownership including new main engine, new generator, new bowthruster (all 2013), complete new teak decks 15mm (2014) new North Sails; fully battened main, genoa and staysail. Extensive refit and service work was carried out in 2017 including repaint of topsides and superstructure, full rig service etc.
Hull colours: FlagBlue (painted 2017) with white striping.
Construction: Glassfibre hull and deck.
Keel: Fin keel, draft 3.5m and 14400 kg/31700 lbs ballast.
Steering: Skeg rudder with roller bearings, 70” recessed steering wheel.
Complete new teak decks 2014, thickness 15mm
Deck Hardware: Lewmar hydraulic windlass, CQR 105 lbs. anchor with 100m chain, spare anchor Fortress.
Winches cockpit, Lewmar: 2 x 1100 hydraulic, 2 x 700 (also connected to grinder system), 1 x 68 for mainsheet, 2 x 46 for mainsheet traveller, 2 x 52 for running backstays.
Winches near mast, Lewmar: 6 x 52, 2 x 56, 2 x 68 hydraulic
Hatches: Goiot, all replaced for new (2014).
Teak interior finish, sleeps 8 guests in 3 cabins, i.e. 1 owners cabin forward of the saloon with en-suite head and 2 triple cabins aft, both en-suite. There is an upper/lower bedded crew cabin forward with head. Sealand vacuum flush toilet system.
Saloon/dining area midships with U-shaped seating area/table to portside and a settee to starboard side, chart table to sb side and the galley situated to portside, see layout plan below.
Entertainment: Sony flat screen TV with dolby surround system, DVD player, hi-fi music system (Alpine, Bose, Kicker).
Condaria reverse cycle air-conditioning throughout, 2x hot water system through engine and 220v.
Galley: 2 sinks, hot & cold water tap, Alpes Inox 4 burner cooker and oven, fridge, freezer, extractor, microwave, Miele washing machine, Nespresso machine

At the Nautor’s Swan service center in Scarlino/Italy the following works were carried out: Hull bottom - stripped off all old anti fouling, faired bottom, 5 layers of new Gelshield osmosis protection, antifouling. Hull topsides - complete paint job using Du Pont paint system. Superstructure/Cockpits - complete paint job using Du Pont paint system New portlight acrylics Replaced existing fixed window acrylics with tinted toughened glass All window frames painted
New wheel leather Electrics - new 2.5kw Mastervolt inverter; new main engine start batteries; new battery isolators to ensure efficient charging of each battery bank Interior - several new floorboards and all others revarnished; revision of pump manifolds and associated plumbing; serviced pumps, lots of interior varnish work; new Oceanair blinds, painting of Structural Frame with anti-corrosion paint; bilge paint where required, new larger electric bilge pump Rig & Rigging - mast unstepped and completely disassembled; all rigging surveyed and checked using ultra sound including key areas of the mast tube and boom; rig paint and polish; boom paint and polish; all electrics checked and revised where required including new masthead light; running rigging checked and replaced as required; all rods polished; mast sheaves serviced or replaced.
