Designed and built for serious extended passage making, Pacific Zulu is the ultimate in economical power cruising.
Completed in 2010, this boat is one of the more unique offshore cruising capable powerboats to be seen in recent years.
She is an inexpensive cruiser for an experienced yachtsman who is looking for a passage-making capable cruiser.
Pacific Zulu is an 11.95m long range power trimaran, designed and built for extended, short handed cruising around New Zealand and the South Pacific.
Her efficient hull design gives a cruising range of around 2,000nm at a speed of 10 knots. Top speed is 14 knots and at 2800 rpm, the approximate fuel usage is only ½ litre per nm.
,Pacific Zulu has an innovative design that allows the beam to be reduced by retracting the outer hulls. The beam can be reduced from 5.3m down to 4.6m.
With her beam reduced she will easily fit into a single marina berth saving mooring fees. She will even fit into a standard 40' container making shipping her around the world an economical exercise.
Shallow 0.5m draft allows you to anchor close to the shore.
Capable of exploring into remote in shore areas. Displacement is only 3,600 kgs.
The engine is a sturdy Yanmar 4JH4AE, 54hp diesel engine. The engine was installed in 2015 and has only 450hrs
Fuel capacity is 1,600 litres in built in stainless steel underfloor tanks.
The engine is mounted in a sound proofed compartment with good clear access through a hatch in the cockpit sole.
All the electronics are powered by a bank of three deep cycle batteries,
The house and engine batteries charged by an 80amp engine driven alternator and kept topped up by a regulated 40 watt Solara solar panel and a wind generator.
