Imagine your next boat being as strong as a rhino with the grace of ballet dancer. This pretty much defines Pheasant Plucker. This 44 Armstrong pilot house cat comes with a pedigree of the Armstrong line known for strength & quality. Her proven catamaran hull gives her a ride that lets this beast gently step over the kind of ugly waves that are often found in the Alaskan waters and keep many boats in the harbor.

Pheasant Plucker offers the comforts of a cruiser. Stepping inside you will see she is outfitted with a full starboard side galley that includes an extra-large sink, Norcold refrigerator/freezer and the benefits of a Wallace stove that not only cook but also serves as a backup cabin heater that draws moist air out of the cabin on those rainy days. Her primary heater is a diesel forced air that keep your crew and passengers warm and cozy. Conveniently located just across from the galley is a convertible dinette perfect to enjoy a meal or short little break while taking in the view. Her Y-Valve equipped head with 20 gallon holding tank is conveniently located next to the galley, settee and a few steps from the pilot house and hull cabins. A few steps down in the hulls you will find cabins that can serve for overnight sleeping accommodations or just more storage than you will ever need. From the main salon and just a few steps up you access to a large pilot house with the kind of view professional skippers require. Forward facing windshield with wipers and defroster keep your view clear in even the worst conditions. Large rear facing windows provide aft visibility. A raised shock absorbing helm chair with arm rest will smooth out any remaining wave impact that is not already been cushioned by her catamaran hull. Arm s length convenience of all the boats systems round out her helm to give you a professional control center. Convenient side deck access is available with her pilot house doors and a bench seat both port and starboard allows crew to enjoy the panoramic pilot house view without getting in the skipper s way. Finally, when you crave a little entertainment, she has a Sirius equipped stereo that provides the sounds of civilization no matter how far away you are.
Her deck offers some great features just not available on most boats. Her large aft cockpit is versatile and set up for fishing with mounts for down riggers, an overbuilt hydraulic hoist for crab pots or freight and plenty of rod holders. You will find landing the larger catch a breeze with her aft helm for maneuvering, a transom access door and no swim step or outboards to get in the way. Once aboard there is a fish cleaning and bait station with wash down to make clean up easy. Engine servicing is easy with two large deck hatches that provide full access to her Cummings. You and your crew will appreciate moving around the boat with her non slip decks and hand holds in all the right places. The cabin top is easily accessed with a built-in ladder on the port side. Side decks are wide and easily transited. Forward you have a unique feature of this boat not found on other high speed pilot house boats. Because of her rugged aluminum catamaran hull design, and the 2' 6" draft you can beach her and use her drop down steps to land your guest ashore without getting wet or the complexities of a tender. A small Danforth anchor lets you tie to the beach while your crew is ashore. When there is a need for deep water anchoring, she is fully equipped here as well with a 40 lb Bruce attached to 150 ft of chain and 500ft of line all controlled by a hydraulic Kinematic winch.
Dependable twin 575 hp. 5.9 liter Cummings let her twin hulls cut through the top of the waves at a cruising speed of 20 knots burning only 20 gallons per hour. When it s time to push her a little this 44 foot pilot house can move like a runabout with a top speed of 27 knots. Her 4 blade props cradled in their own hull tunnels help smooth the vibration, give her a boost out of the whole and bring down the nose for an even flatter ride at lower speeds. This just adds to the kind of ride benefits not found in Mono hulls.
When on the move, her electrical package is built around a 12v system and includes isolated batteries for each of her engines and a twin battery house bank. If AC is required a Cobra inverter is available. For her electronics package she is equipped with a professional Furuno system that integrates GPS/plotter, radar and depth sounder. An Icom VHF for communications completes her electronics.
