Layout and Accomodations
All of SONNY is finished off in the Herreshoff style of satin varnished Cherry wood joinery contracting with white bulkheads and joinery fronts with teak and holly sole throughout the vessel.
Furthest forward is the crew cabin with sleeping for two in two separate over-sized single berths and generous storage space for the crew’s personal gear in lockers and drawers. Aft of the crew sleeping area is the crew shower and sink vanity. The crew’s quarters can be accessed from on deck and by way of privacy doors from the port and starboard guest cabins.
Next aft are two guest cabins each with sleeping accommodations for two (or more) in oversized berths arranged in an over / under configuration. Each cabin has storage space for guest’s personal gear in lockers and drawers.
Aft of the port quest cabin is a guest / day head area with toilet, sink basin and shower.
Continuing aft one enters the main saloon with settee seating to port and a large circular dining area to starboard. Aft and to port in the main saloon is the navigation station. Aft on center line if the companionway ladder leading up to the cockpit. Aft and to starboard in the main saloon leads to the galley area and passageway way to the master suite.
Aft of the main saloon and to port (outboard of the cockpit above) is the galley area and passageway to the aft master suite. Under the inboard galley counter are several opening doors that allow access to the mechanical systems spaces directly on centerline under the cockpit.
Aft of the galley is the large master suite with two double berths (port and starboard) and generous storage space for all the owners’ personal gear. The owner’s suite is serviced by its own private head area with separate stall shower. Opening doors on the inboard side of the head and shower areas allow for access to the mechanical systems spaces directly on centerline under the cockpit.
