ALEIDA is number 16 of the Hinckley 38's. She was designed by Sparkman and Stephens as a cruiser/racer, and well built by the Hinckley yard. . Weight is concentrated in the middle of the boat and her fin keel and skeg hung rudder, placed well aft on the boat, provide for very responsive handling. She sails well on all point of sail. Aleida has been upgraded and well maintained by a knowledgeable owner.

Accommodations

The Forward Cabin has a "V" berth, convertible to a comfortable double using filler cushion. Also provided are a bureau, drawers, storage locker,hanging locker and a hatch opening to the foredeck.

The Head is aft to port, and features a Wilcox Crittenden Skipper marine toilet plumbed with Y valve for discharge overboard or to the holding tank located under the "V" berth. A S.S. sink is provided along with a hand-held shower (also located in cockpit). The head has an opening porthole, hamper and storage lockers. Across from the head is a large hanging locker with built-in shelves.

The Main Cabin has (upper) pilot berths P & S with drawers underneath, as well as pull-out settee berths P & S with stowage below. A large folding table is provided.

Aft from the Main Cabin is the Galley to port and the Ice-box to starboard. The stove is an Origo 2-burner alcohol gimbaled unit with oven (2011), water heater is a Super Stor 6 gallon model and the water pressure pump is by Jabsco. The S.S. galley sink drains directly overboard.

Engine

The engine is a Yanmar Model 3JH2E and is mounted amidships under the main salon sole. Access is good. This is a 39 hp. motor dating from around 1996. Indicated engine hours are............The fuel system includes a Racor filter and shut-off. The engine is fresh water cooled thru heat exchanger. Exhaust system is raw-water cooled thru a Vernalift FRP muffler. Reduction gear is by Hurth and the moor is equipped wit a 55-amp alternator. Controls are via a single-lever Teleflex system and the Yanmar panel, gauges and alarms are located in the cockpit. The shaft is !" stainless and the prop is a bronze 2-blade 14" Max-prop.

Steering is an Edson system including a S.S. wheel and pedestal, chain, cable and quadrant. An emergency tiller is provided.
