The Sabre 28 has been a proven, popular classic design introduced by Roger Hewson in the early 70s. Silver Dollar is not your average Sabre 28 since this one has undergone a major rebuild during 2013/2014.
All of the hardware was removed, re-anodized, rebedded. Exterior teak was also removed, refinished or replaced and recoated with twelve coats of varnish. Cabin windows removed, replaced.
Note that the standing/running rigging was replaced as well as the addition of new North sails.
Mechanically, Silver Dollars was treated to a completely rebuilt 30 hp Atomic 4 in 2010. Also added were new fuel, water and holding tanks. The interior retains the original layout with vee berth forward, enclosed head, hanging locker, double settees with one that pulls out to a double. There is a complete galley, including an alcohol stove, stainless steel sink, and ice chest. A quarter berth is most aft.
Silver Dollars will be appreciated by those in search of a turnkey boat and one with upgraded reliable systems.
