WINDS OF CHANGE is a Formosa 41 Yankee Clipper, built by the Formosa Boat Building Company in Taiwan in 1977 to a William Garden design.
Formosa yachts are much sought after and prized as long range cruising yachts for their bulletproof build and comfortable sea keeping qualities, with a hand laid, thick and very and solid hull with an encapsulated long keel.
This example is one of the finest Formosa 41's you will find. 41 feet on deck and 50 feet overall with the bowsprit. Repowered two years ago with a new Yanmar 75hp diesel still with just 1100 hours, and with many more recent additions and upgrades including a watermaker, wind generator, solar panels, new batteries, radar and other electronics, plus a bowthruster.
The wooden spars were inspected, overhauled and a section of the mainmast and the bowsprit replaced in Florida before being sailed to the Caribbean.
The sails and rig are in fine condition and the boat is being sold with some new canvas and a new 10' AB aluminium RIB with 8hp Suzuki fourstroke.
Purchased by the current owners in Toronto just two years ago after spending many years on the Great Lakes in a freshwater environment she was sailed down to the Caribbean just last year.
With excellent headroom throughout and berths for six down below, the fore cabin has a double berth plus a single together with a convertible double and single in the main saloon.
The galley has very efficient 12v refrigeration and a new propane stove with 3 burner hob. A single head with shower completes the accommodation.
The interior joinery is all solid teak with some finely figured carvings on the doors.
The teak decks are still in very good condition and are in the process of being recaulked.
This is a very well equipped boat and well sorted for long range cruising and living on the hook.
Lying in Antigua and listed for sale at US$ 59,950.
