Krokenen is a lap strake planked wood Motor Yacht with a full bow and a canoe stern. The forward interior is designed as a combination salon and berthing area. There is storage under wood berth supports, a galley table which slides on a vertical wood stanchion for storage in the overhead. There is a diesel fired stove for heat. On the starboard side is a head with marine toilet. There is a polyethylene holding tank under the settee just forward. Next aft is the main cabin with control and navigation station, sink, settees and captains chair. The engine is located below the main cabin floor boards and is accessed thru a raised hinged deck section. Nest is the aft salon with horse shoe settee.

The Hull is constructed with longleaf yellow pine planks of approximately 5/8"x7" dimensions. The frames are sawn oak and notched to accept the lap strake construction.
Copper rivets fasten the planks together. Copper rivets are used at frame connections. The stern plank hood ends are fastened with steel ship nails. Keel bolts are bronze.
The stem and keel are reportedly sawn white oak. There is a stainless stem band at the bow.
Propulsion and steering
The main engine is a Volvo Penta model MD31A diesel 4 cylinder in line engine.
The engine is heat exchanger cooled with wet exhaust.
There is a clutched marine transmission with unknown reduction connected to a 1 1/8" stainless steel tail shaft.
The bronze 4-blade propeller reportedly is 18" diameterx 14" of pitch.
The rudder is plywood with bronze cap which supports top and bottom
