Among the classic models of the Shannon line, the Shannon 28 remains one of the favorites. Every conceivable item, from hull design to the layout of the galley dish locker, was incorporated to produce the finest yacht possible. The interior, configured in the highly desired Shannon's "B" layout with wrap-around main cabin settee, is finished in handcrafted teak in a satin finish with a solid teak and holly sole.
The owners and their three sons (aged ten and under) have spent the last decade living aboard and cruising from Maine to the Caribbean. They haven't "swallowed the anchor"; rather they're taking a sabbatical before heading out again.

Starting forward, there is access from the V-berth to the anchor locker. Next aft is the double V-berth with open shelves to port and starboard and storage under. Just aft of the V-berth are settees port and starboard with a centerline drop down teak table. The settees slide inboard to form two additional berths which are equipped with lee cloths for secure offshore sleeping. (All berths have navy blue Sunbrella fabric). Outboard of the settees, port and starboard, are two enclosed louver-door lockers and open shelves. Aft of the port berth is a hanging locker, followed by an enclosed, very spacious, head.
The head includes two medicine cabinets, wet hanging locker and a hamper. Plumbing includes a stainless steel sink and shower, both with hot and cold pressure water and a 2019 Jabsco Twist and Lock marine toilet with holding tank, direct discharge seacock and deck pump-out.
Opposite to starboard is the well-appointed galley. The stainless steel sink is forward, served by hot and cold pressure water with an additional manual fresh water pump. The two burner gas stove with oven is amidships and the large (6 cu. ft) icebox is aft. There are numerous lockers, knife and spice racks as well as a unique folding counter extension to the left of the sink.
Ventilation is provided by six bronze opening ports with screens as well as a Bomar overhead hatch and a double hinged forward cabin hatch, each with teak framed screens.
The companionway ladder is at the aft end of the salon, forward of the electrical panel and the engine access door.
