Tides Marine Strong Track Mainsail Handling System with Stack Pack
Marine AC, Heat, Dehumidify
The Bob Perry designed Tayana 52 truly is an offshore sailing machine. She’s powerful, robustly built, seakindly and is designed for both safety and comfort.
Her rig, hull design and accommodations are ideal for long distance sailing. The cutter rig offers the simplicity of a single mast and affords the ability of easily reducing or increasing sail according to the wind and sea conditions. Lookfar has ProFurl furling units on both her genoa and staysail. She has a fully battened traditional mainsail which is easily handled with a Tides Marine Strong Track system, a Stack Pack, Lazy Jacks and an electric winch. Sail controls are led to the cockpit for safety and convenience. Her decks are wide and uncluttered, she has high lifelines and her toerail is substantial—all important safety factors when under way.
The long, modified fin keel and skeg-hung rudder have proven to be THE ideal for bluewater sailing and remote gunkholing. Lookfar has all the comforts of home with plenty of space to entertain a crowd, a well-appointed galley, excellent sea births, 3 private cabins and two heads with showers.
The Tayana 52s have proven themselves as solid, comfortable passagemakers. Lookfar completed a circumnavigation (1998-2001) and the listing broker recently sold a sister ship that is currently well into her third circumnavigation. The Tayana 52 is one of legendary designer Robert Perry’s favorite designs. Contact the listing broker with any questions and to set up a time to see Lookfar.

Lookfar has 3 full-size cabins and 2 heads with showers. She has tons of storage and single level flooring throughout her interior—no awkward steps to deal with when offshore. She has two marine AC/Heat units and six overhead opening hatches.
The Master Suite is forward with a large berth (real mattress), a hanging locker, chest of drawers and storage cabinets with louvered doors both port and starboard of berth. All the way forward, there is access to the anchor locker.
The private Master Head features an electric commode, a separate shower and vanity. The shower has a seat and a separate sump box and pump. There is the option to flush the commode with either fresh or saltwater and the option to flush into the holding tank or directly overboard. This set-up is ideal for waste management both for remote cruising and for time spent in harbors or marinas.
The Salon is spacious with plenty of room for crew and guests. A large U-shaped settee is to starboard with an expandable table in the center. A long settee is to port and doubles as an excellent sea berth. Just aft of the master suite is a large hanging locker to port and an additional tall locker with shelving to starboard. Both open shelving and cabinets with louvered doors are above both settees as well as storage behind and below both settees. For an additional touch of class, Tayana’s signature emblem and name is engraved in the door leading from the Salon to the Master Suite.
The Nav Station is excellent—forward facing nav desk, within easy reach of the cockpit and room for all necessary electronics. The nav desk is large with deep storage under the lid, plenty of area for using real paper charts, drawers and a comfortable seat.
The Aft Head is starboard of the companionway, conveniently located close to the cockpit and the two aft cabins. It features an electric flush freshwater commode, shower and vanity. There is the option to flush the commode with either fresh or saltwater and the option to flush into the holding tank or directly overboard.
There are Two Private Guest Cabins aft, both with hanging lockers, drawers, shelving and room for changine clothes. The custom mattresses are hinged for easy access to storage and systems under the berths.
The design of the Galley is superb. Spacious, with lots of counter space, huge fridge and freezer, excellent storage, well-placed microwave (doesn’t take up counter space), centerline sinks and gimbaled 3 burner stove and oven. It would be hard to imagine a better designed galley that offers so much space for the cook to work and at the same time provide proper security (bracing points) while in a seaway.
