The deck has been repainted and looks great, while the topsides are blemish free and really shine. The Cat Ketch Rig with its unstayed carbon fiber masts provided clear unobstructed decks and a large T-shaped cockpit.

In 2013 the engine was pulled and completely overhauled with only 88 hours since.
The traditional teak interior has a large open salon, two private staterooms with 6'6" berths, full galley and enclosed head with a stall shower.

This boat features an incredible roomy interior for a 34' footer, certainly sufficient for living aboard for extended periods.
With the mainmast in the bow of the boat, the Ticon 34 has an unusually open and spacious salon. Comfortably upholstered settees face each other across a teak dropleaf table with centre well for bottle storage. Outboard shelves and lockers provide secure stowage. Light and air come to the salon through a total of 6 screened opening ports and a large overhead hatch. All interior living spaces are teak and very traditional in design. The sole is teak and holly while the over-head is white vinyl with teak battens.
Located aft of the port settee the large chart table is fitted with ample locker, drawer and shelves for charts and manuals as well mounting space for electronic gear.
This is a real cooks galley with its 3 burner LPG stove/oven, large 8 cu. ft. refrigerated icebox, double S/S sink and lots of counter space and stowage.
Forward Master Cabin
Located in the bow of the boat, the master stateroom features an oversized 6'6" double berth, large hanging locker oversized drawers and a night table for homey comfort. The large hatch and 3 opening ports provide abundant ventilation. Reading lights, shelves, counter space as well as 110V outlets provide all the conveniences of home.
Aft Guest Cabin
Located aft and to starboard the fully enclosed second stateroom provides the same privacy and conveniences of the forward master. Its is comfortably sized and ventilated with a 6'6" double berth, hanging locker and 3-drawer bureau.
Located aft and to port, the large head includes all required features for extended cruising including a shower stall with removable seat, toilet, sink, vanity and lockers for towels and toiletries. It is of one piece FRP molded construction designed for easy cleaning.
Walk in Engine Room
A door leads from the head to the engine room, permitting easy access and simplifying maintenance of engine, steering and electrical systems.
We like this boat with its roomy interior, traditional design and obvious continuous upkeep by its very knowledgable owners. The teak joinery is in very good condition as is the sole and cushions. No diesel or head odors or evidence of water damage were noted.
The hull is hand-laid fiberglass matt and unidirectional cloth with reinforcement of Klegecel and marine ply. Blister resistance is provided by isophthalic resin and gelcoat plus 2 coats of high build epoxy over the under-body. The topsides shine and are in excellent condition.
The externally mounted 6,000 lb fin keel is lead alloyed with antimony, through-bolted to a reinforced keel sump with S/S bolts The centerboard is fiberglass ballasted with lead and swinging on a 1" S/S pin. The bottom is clean smooth and painted.
The decks were repainted in 2013 and look great. It is constructed of hand laid fiberglass reinforced with Klegecel and marine ply. Nonskid in a contrasting color is molded in. The deck is completely enclosed by double rail bow and stern pulpits and joined by double lifelines and braced gates.
The T-shaped cockpit is equipped with a 36' wheel mounted on a pedestal. Engine controls and steering compass are fitted on the pedestal. Full engine instrumentation is visible from the helm. At the stern, a large unobstructed gate makes boarding from the stern ladder uneventful. Winches and clutches are in easy reach as are control lines. A new bimini was added in 2017.
Access to the bow is safe and easy due to the wide unobstructed side decks and cabin-top handrails.
At the bow the manual windlass and S/S bowsprit with its 2 anchor rollers simplify the handling of ground tackle. Shes has a 35lb Bruce anchor, spare anchor, 30' of chain and a 150' of rode. A chainplate leads to a self draining chain locker.
Looks great, no cracking or soft spots noted, like the interior all is tidy and very well maintained.
A modern cat ketch designed by Bruce Kirby intended to provide greater sail area for speed that is easily handled while short handed. The ketch rig is well balanced off the wind.
The freestanding carbon fiber masts carry fully battened sails and conventional booms. lazy-jacks are provided for hassle free reefing and furling. All control lines including halyards, vangs and reefing lines lead aft through stoppers to self-tailing winches.
The North Mainsail was new in 2010 and is in excellent condition while the mizzen sail replaced in 2016. All running rigging is in excellent condition.
In 2013 a major engine overhaul was performed. The 3 cylinder Volvo diesel was removed from the boat and dismantled. Work included honing of the cylinders, cleaning of pistons and replacement of the rings, main and connection rod bearings, gaskets and seals. The starter motor and impellers were also replaced at that time.
88 hours have been registered since the rebuild.
This boat is fitted with a true engine room. Access to the engine for repairs and maintenance is outstanding. Electrical systems, batteries, pumps, plumbing components and the steering gear are all easily reached.
Electric control panels for both 12V and 110V systems are located at the nav station. 110 convenience outlets are located in various locations. A shore power connection cord is provided.
In 2017 the batteries were replaced. There is a Group 27 starting battery and two group 31 house batteries. A new battery charger and and charging relay were also installed at that time.
Hot and cold pressure water is provided at the galley and head. Five years ago a new 6 gallon hot water heater was installed. All underwater thru-hulls are fitted with sea cocks and double clamped hoses. Manual and auto electric are fitted.
