Engine, Mechanical and Ships systems
Engine room Manufacturer Provided Description
The engine room of the Mediterranean 38 is a testament to attention to detail. The compartment is a mirror-smooth fiberglass engineered structure that incorporates fiberglass drip pans under the engines, fiberglass battery boxes with lock-down hinged vented covers, engine stringers, elevated floor boards, and a molded-in sump for the bilge pumps. The standard soundproofing is superior, featuring a special mylar-faced barrier material applied in layers to the main salon sole. Special attention has been given to vibration-borne noise dampening. This, coupled with large water-lift mufflers makes the Mediterranean 38 one of the quietest and smoothest vessels of her size afloat. All of the engine room machinery is easily accessible for maintenance while the engines, equipment, wiring, and plumbing installations are among the best in the industry. Comparing this engine room to others will demonstrate just how well engineered and well-built the Mediterranean 38 really is.
Deck, Hull and Fly bridge
The Cockpit and Deck fiberglass non skid are in excellent condition as is the cabin top and hull sides’ gelcoat. The transom is set in to provide a molded swim step. There are port and starboard, molded steps from the cockpit to the wide walk-around side decks. Extensive use of Stainless Steel grab rails and deck rails ads a feeling of safety and comfort while traversing on deck. The enclosed fly bridge is a great feature of this Mediterranean. It has kept the fly bridge in excellent condition, while providing not only protection from the elements while underway but also providing a second level sun room for relaxing and entertaining. The fly bridge Helm is forward to port, with wraparound "U" shaped guest seating for 6 to starboard
The Mediterranean 38's cockpit is designed for the avid fisherman. More than eight feet long, it comes standard with a transom door and two large, below deck storage areas. A removable live bait tank, a fiberglass bait and tackle center with a sink and a cutting board, polished stainless steel rocket launchers, and numerous flush rod holders all are calculated to satisfy the discriminating fisherman.
