The might be the perfect all around size for a weekend cruiser. All the amenities but still the ease of handling with manageable costs.
Hunter Marine's keel boats are the backbone of the Hunter fleet. These spacious and comfortable cruisers are incredibly appointed from the rich fabrics to the top-grade hardware. Hunter Marine Hunter Marine Corporation was founded in 1973 to build truly affordable sailboats. Warren Luhrs, Hunter's chairman, has personally logged thousands of ocean miles both single-handedly and shorthanded aboard his ocean racers. From these floating laboratories hundreds of new ideas have been born.
The same B & R rig that powered his boats into the record books also power the Hunter fleet. A lot has changed over the years, but Hunter Marine continues its commitment of bringing the sailing public the best performing and most accommodating sailboats at a reasonable price.
The 340 has all those cruising features that make sailing fun! The WALK-THRU TRANSOM makes swimming and boarding by dingy easy, while the RAIL SEATS make the admiral comfortable while the cabin boy trims the sheets! Lots of room for the family with the TWO CABIN LAYOUT.

Whether sailing for the islands or just around the buoys, the Hunter 340 can really make a difference. Starting with the tall, fractional rig, Hunter has engineered the mast to carry less weight aloft with smaller sections. This is accomplished by utilizing swept-back spreaders and reverse diagonals as well as mast support struts. This combination provides superior strength without a backstay and increases the stability at the same time. By using a large roach main as the power sail, Hunter has eased the effort in sail handling and provided real versatility for all wind and sea conditions.
The deck layout reflects the innovation that accompanies the rig. An integrated arch protects the cockpit from snapping main sheets and blistering sun (with an optional bimini). This arch keeps the cockpit clear and open, where a custom console stands ready with the standard VHF and instruments.
Single lever control and fold down table, along with engine instrumentation, complete the command station. The swim platform and walkthrough transom complete with shower and folding ladder are perfect for water sports or for boarding the tender. Storage is everywhere you look and the non-skid is absolutely first-rate.
Comfort is truly important whether you're on the boat for a week or a year, so Hunter has created an interior that not only looks good, but works for you as well. Two private, large staterooms along with an enormous head with shower, a salon that can seat eight, and a gourmet galley will keep all the crew happy.
Engine Brand: Yanmar

Fwd cabin offers 5' 10" headroom with 5'10" long berth. Storage is in 2x cubbies to port and 4xcubbies below the berth, as well as hanging lockers to port and stbd. A large screened opening
hatch overhead lets in light and air. Doorcloses for privacy, and louvered shutters can be opened to make this cabin feel
Main cabin offers 6'3" headroom. Natural light and fresh air pour though 6x fixed side cabin ports, 2x fixed overhead ports, and 3x screened opening overhead hatches making the Hunter 340's interior very light. Settee to stbd is 6'3" long. U-shaped settee to port is 6'7". Pedestal table (with storage inside) lowers to turn this settee into a large double berth. Accordian shades drop over cabin ports for privacy.
Storage is along hull side shelves and under the settees.
Nav station is aft facing, using the aft end of the port settee as a nav seat. Chart table top flips up to reveal storage inside. Additional storage is on a shelf above and in a hanging locker aft.
Enclosed head & shower are aft to stbd, convenient to the cockpit. Headroom here is 6'3", and there is plenty of elbow room. Hinged seat flips down over the toilet when the shower is in use.
Storage is in cabinets under the sink, 2x drawers and a cabinet under the counter, a hullside cabinet behind the counter, and in a mirrored hullside cabinet above the counter.
The aft cabin with queen-sized berth is one of the best features of the Hunter 340, and one not usually found on a 34' sailboat. This master stateroom offers 6'3 headroom, and the queen-size berth is 7'10" long, running athwartship across the entire aft beam of the boat. Storage is in outboard shelves to stbd (at the foot of the berth), in a cubby over the engine box, and in cubbies and a hanging locker to port. Even when the door is closed for privacy, there is still room to move around to get dressed in this cabin.
The large cockpit with social seating is another great feature of the Hunter 340. A horseshoe shaped settee wraps around the perimeter, with elevated rail seats in the port and stbd quarters (a very fun perch for your crew while under sail). Helm pedestal has hinged leaves that flip up to create a table. Spray dodger and Bimini provide sun and spray cover. Storage is in lockers under the stbd settee and in the port and stbd quarters.
Yet another terrific feature is the swim platform and transom door, which allow safe and comfortable access to the cockpit from a dinghy or from the water in the case of a swim (voluntary or involuntary!)
Galley is to port at the base of the companionway, offering 6'3" headroom.
Double basin stainless steel sink offers hot and cold pressure fresh water. An overhead screened opening hatch and 2x fixed cabin ports provide ample ventilation and light. Storage is in 2x hull side cabinets, a cabinet under the sink, and 4x drawers under the Corian counter.
