Nimble Boats built the Nimble 25 Arctic from ’88-’93. It evolved into the Nimble 24 and was replaced by the Kodiak in 1993 and has the same hull as the Arctic, but a larger pilothouse and different deck design. Nimble builds a very high-quality boat, designed by Ted Brewer. The hulls are very strong, yet light enough for performance. All of the gear is adequately sized and mounted with appropriate backing. After a decade there’s little indication of gelcoat cracking common on many other brands. Installation of both the inside woodwork and electrical wiring are very well done. The boat is easily launched using a ramp.

Manufacturer Provided Description
The pilothouse design maximizes three very important requirements of the mature cruising sailor: spacious comfortable onboard accommodations, excellent handling characteristics, and protection from the weather; the Kodiak Pilothouse Motor Sailer features all of that and a great deal more. A comfortable starboard side steering station and matching mate's chair on the port side provide an excellent view of the surroundings through eight pilothouse windows, two of which are on slides to allow a free flow of air for ventilation. The 6-foot, 6-inch headroom in the pilothouse dispels the myth that all sailboats are cramped and uncomfortable. The cockpit is deep, and long enough to allow sleeping under the stars. Lumbar support is molded into the pilothouse aft exterior, and drink holders are molded into the substantial bridge deck. The coamings are wide and comfortable to sit on when necessary. Teak and other fine wood give the interior that warm, elegant ambiance that is so important to pride of ownership. Even the chart table, which converts to a standup head, is crafted in beautifully finished teak. The 6-foot, 4-inch berth behind the steering station can be converted into a double. The forward berth is separated from the main cabin by a teak bulkhead, and overhead hatches illuminate and ventilate the main cabin. Two hatches in the overhead of the forward cabin, one of which is a skylight type, provide illumination and further ventilation. Individual reading lamps provide light in the evening.
