This Striper is equipped with a drop down curtain that can easily be removed or the middle door section can be raised and strapped out of the way. Just inside is a pair of deck level bench seats that would be comfortable while running or a perfect spot to stay out the weather when you're keeping on eye out for the big hit! One step up and you are on the same level as the captain's chair and first mate's seat. This spot has great views forward and aft and has clear visibility of the full set of electronics. Step down into the v-berth and you will find a full size marine toilet starboard and a small tidy kitchen port, with sink and a one burner stove. This space is also home to a large 2-person v-berth that might even fit the dog!
The back deck is unusually large with the inventive engine cover that rises up and away from the deck. She is outfitted with a large swim step, 2 fish boxes, rod storage and cup holders throughout. The swim step was an after market install that appears as if it came directly from the manufacturer. It holds a large cooler and a nifty ladder for those days when it's too hot to fish and a dip into the Pacific is in order.
This 2601 is equipped with a 5.7 liter 320 horse power Volvo Penta marine engine coupled with a Volvo Penta dual prop outdrive. She will easily cruise at 30 mph and do well over 40 when you need to beat everyone to the fishing grounds. She also has a custom mounted 18 horse power Tohatsu kicker for trolling or as a get home motor if the need ever arises.
This Striper has all the electronic gadgets you will need to get you around safely. Included in the upper compartment are the Icom VHF and the Furuno radar. Directly in front of the skipper is the Lowrance fish finder, the Furuno chart plotter, GPS system. You will have no problem finding that hidden inlet or returning to a former hot fishing spot.
