Czarina is a 27’, ketch rigged day-sailor, built by the Covey Island Boatworks in Nova Scotia for a repeat customer from the Bahamas. The boat is a “composite build, “ designed by Laurie McGowan, with craftsmanship and detail a true yachtsman can appreciate. Czarina was featured in numerous publications including Soundings. Her owner, an experienced sailor, pilot, painter, and author, sailed her to the Bahamas where she now resides in Nassau. Her original equipment included an electric motor that has since been replaced with a Universal 21hp Diesel engine. This delightful, swing keel ketch with shallow draft (3’1” to 6’,) seems perfect for exploring the islands and beyond. Her first impression is both “robust and salty.”
Czarina is powerful with lots of sail, 467 sq.ft, and apart from an all fiberglass centerboard and trunk, construction was completed using Covey Island’s tried and true wood/epoxy methods.” Therefore, an owner will have the maintenance free endurance of epoxy/glass over the nostalgic beauty of wood.
Czarina can be seen in Nassau. She was sailed there from Fort Lauderdale so, a return trip should be easily possible.
Thank you for your consideration of this fine vessel and please don’t hesitate to call for an appointment to inspect her. She’s seriously offered for sale.
