Affair is a ClubSwan 42 built in 2007. The ClubSwan 42 has proven herself on the race course winning the ORC World Championship 2015 in Barcelona with other CS 42s in 2nd and 4th place. As a one design class, the fleet is still active in both Mediterranean and USA. In 2015 Affair undertook some serious maintenance including new standing rigging, deck gear upgrades and a bottom treatment
Glass/ vinylester laminate with carbon reinforcement in selected area. Sandwich topside and single skin bottom fiber reinforcement aremultiaxial or unidirectional. Structural bulkhead are of veneered sandwich construction or marine grade waterproof plywood. Bottom stiffeners reinforced with unidirectional carbon and multiaxial glass fibre in selected areas.

The pushpit, pulpit and stanchions are of stainless steel.
The life lines are 600 mm high, with lower life lines at minimum ISAF/ORC height. There is one pair of mooring cleats at bow.
Built-in GRP foot chocks for helmsman/tactician and mainsheet trimmer and built-in GRP foot chocks at center line in cockpit.
There is a boarding ladder aft and a flagpole holder on stern.

The grab rails are on each side of coach roof and companionway.
