This new boat was built by Robert (Chummy) Rich Jr. of the Bass Harbor Boat Shop, Maine. He has been building boats for many years, starting out in his father's shop, and has spent the past few years building this one with his brother, Walter. She is a traditional Downeast boat with modern amenities, berths for 4, full galley, and an enclosed head with separate shower. Her layout is open and bright with many opening windows, hatches, and overhead lights throughout. Her owner/builder has enjoyed putting 90 hours on her Cummins the past summer. She runs quietly with a nice steady ride going through the water. Not all her finish work has been completed but will be during the winter. If you are looking for an up-to-date well-built Downeast boat with some style to cruise the coast this 2018 season, come take a look at the Karen!
