2020 Sun Odyssey 410.
With the new Marc Lombard hull design, a truly innovative deck plan and comfort and modernity below, it is no wonder that the Jeanneau 410 was voted Best Midsize Cruiser 2019 by Cruising World Magazine. Sailing has probably never been so enjoyable aboard a 41-footer.
Some of the highlights of this fantastic 3 cabin 2 head yacht are:
Great living space and innovation on deck
This new model Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410 has introduced a truly innovative deck layout that is completely original. The new “walk around” side deck slopes gently down towards the helm station each side,so that there is no more clambering over thwarts and coamings to get from cockpit to side deck – you simply walk around the helm.
The spacious cockpit has comfortable seating, a large cockpit table with folding leaves, twin wheels and an extra large electronic swim platform. The wide split back stay gives a very open easy access when boarding.
The engine start panel is incorporated into the central cockpit mold together with autopilot, steering compass and table/transom and light controls. Harken winches operated directly from the cockpit make short-handed sailing easy, safe and stress free.
Up forward an integrated composite bowsprit houses the anchor and pushes the bow roller away from the stem and adds a sleek aesthetic look to the bow as well.
Under power and sail
The standard engine is the Yanmar 40 with shaft drive, but this yacht has the upgraded 45HP. She will deliver over 6.2knots at 2100rpm in smooth water and over 8knots with full throttle.
A double-spreader Z-spar mast with roller furler mainsail and 115 percent genoa is fitted on this model. There are no jib tracks on deck due to the use of friction rings on the headsail sheets.
This yacht includes the Jeanneau Offshore Raymarine Navigation pack including a touch screen Axiom 9 multifunction display, p70 autopilot, speed, depth and wind-speed displays and Navionics electronic charts.
Below deck style
Designed by Jean-Marc Piaton and his team the interior design reveals the stunning potential for a sailboat of this size. In this 3 cabin2 head version the forward double berth is offset, giving a Queen size double to starboard with plenty of storage under the bed and an en-suite head and shower on the port side. The two double cabins aft share a head and shower which is on the starboard side of saloon. There is no compromise in space here as the hard chine hull flares out above the waterline ensuring maximum space inside. The heads are both quiet flush electric seawater heads.
Another stroke of design brilliance is that all drawers and cabinets in the salon open parallel to the centreline, so nothing flies out, when opened underway.
There is space and functionality a plenty: a decent forward facing chart table/Nav station and L shaped galley to port, a three-burner stove and oven, and double sinks. The removable sink back splash doubles as an extra counter top. Forward of the galley is a chaise lounge that can extend and convert to a berth or daybed. To starboard there is a generous folding dining table and there is plentiful storage under the seats. The table can also lower to form an extra berth.
The interior finish is pure Jeanneau. Fabric-covered bulkhead panels provide some sound attenuation and the Alpi wood finish is in teak and the upholstery is Ieather. Headroom in the galley is 6’ 3” and in the saloon 6’ 5” which is impressive.

To design the Sun Odyssey 410, Jeanneau reached out long standing design partner Marc Lombard, who was assisted by Jean-Marc Piaton. Together, they delivered on the challenge of bringing the classic Jeanneau styling into a modern yacht. Like the 440 and 490, the Sun Odyssey 410 features a generous beam and walk-around deck, ensuring life on deck is comfortable and spacious, either under way or at anchor. Simple sail handling is ensured through the use of an integrated bow sprit, inboard winches, and recessed wells for controls.
The Lombard-designed, hard chine hull combined with a high aspect cathedral rig, ensure this boat delivers on its high performance aspirations. The fine entry wave piercing bow significantly reduces drag, while giving the boat a distinctive look. In addition, careful consideration has been put into weight distribution and balance in the sail plan, bringing a new level of performance to the Sun Odyssey line. Even the most competitive sailor will love the speed, responsiveness, and ease of handling while at the wheel.
In addition to higher performance than ever before, the Sun Odyssey generation deliver comfort like never before. The high volume hulls allow for bright, comfortable interiors. Like the Sun Odyssey 440 and 490, the 410 features a contemporary, central galley that is ultra-functional and with an abundance of storage. The central daybed, perfect for relaxation, is unique to the 410 and a key feature in this cozy saloon. A large, fully functional nav station to port provides for plenty of room for serious navigation as well as additional electronics.
The 410 can be configured in a 2-cabin or 3-cabin arrangement with queen size berths. It is available with either a single aft head or an additional head forward in the master cabin. Both heads offer separated shower compartments. Whether overnighting, entertaining, or day sailing, the Sun Odyssey 410 strikes the perfect balance between performance and comfort.
