Exterior Walkthrough
The Zeelander 55 is widely known as "Best in Class" for her intelligent use of exterior space. She offers four distinct zones for accommodating an owner's family and all their needs. And for entertaining guests, the available space is truly remarkable. Moving forward from the stern:
- Zone I - When lowered to water level, Zeelander's signature retractable swim platform provides a "beach area" for five guests, seated on folding teak chairs. The platform features a hidden "scuba-style" swim ladder, providing safe and easy access from the water. Notably, in a man-overboard situation, a swimmer can fully lower the platform from a waterline-level switch, and easily pull out the swim ladder.
- Zone II - Moving forward, walkways port and starboard bring you into the cockpit. Here you will find seating for six around a beautiful, faux-varnished and zero maintenance dining table. The table can lower to cocktail height, or, depending upon the selected option, tilt up to allow easy passage across the full beam of the boat.
- Zone III - Zeelander's signature bar area, protected from sun and rain and with seating for four, sits in front of an electrically controlled window, allowing an easy and entertaining flow with the galley area.
- Zone IV - With the galley window retracted and the salon door open, the cockpit area merges seamlessly (and on the same level) with the salon. Just ahead of the galley is a large dinette. When the helm seats swiveled aft, full seating for eight guests is provided.
Interior walkthrough
Zeelander has put a great deal of thoughtful design into providing a careful balance of both interior and exterior space. Moving forward of the helm area, a graceful circular stairwell leads down to the living areas. From the lower foyer area, beautifully varnished doors lead to the VIP cabin forward, the guest cabin (with bunk beds) to starboard, the VIP head and shower to port, and the Master cabin aft.
Engines
Standard engines on the Zeelander 55 are Volvo Penta 950's, providing a top speed of 32 knots.
Hull #7, however, was built with the most powerful engines available. Her twin 1350's drive this yacht at 43 knots, with a fuel burn of 77 GPH.
Throttled back to 30 knots, her GPH is 63.
And, at a speed of 26 knots, her range is a class-leading 420 nautical miles.
